Move-In Schedule
We are thrilled to welcome incoming and returning students to our on-campus community. Your journey towards higher education has begun, and we are excited to be a part of it.
Check-in Information
Before arriving to campus:
- Set up your mobile id+ card using the instructions at idcard.psu.edu/mobile-id-card. The mobile id+ card allows students to use their iPhone, Android, and some smart watches to access their residence hall building and room, meal plan and/or LionCash, and laundry services.
- Schedule your arrival time in eLiving (My Info > Schedule Move-In). This task becomes available once room assignments are posted in July.
- Beginning 24 hours before your scheduled arrival time, log on to eLiving and complete pre-arrival check-in. This step will initiate card access to the building and apartment/room and help speed up the process at arrival.
When you arrive, you'll be directed to log on to eLiving to activate your unloading timer. Enter your plate number and cell phone number, then click "Start Timer" to begin your session. You'll receive a text reminder when your session is about to expire.
Move-in Tips
- Please move your vehicle to long-term parking at Memorial Field as soon as it is unloaded.
- Be prepared for inclement weather; families, consider bringing a change of clothes for the trip home.

- Desk lamp, desk supplies
- Dishes, flatware, and cooking utensils
- DVD player and cables
- Face masks, hand sanitizer
- Fan (portable), box fan for window
- Financial items (checking/savings account, credit/debit card, health insurance card, Social Security card, driver's license, etc.)
- First-Aid kit (band-aids, cotton balls, cotton swabs, cold/cough medicine, COVID at-home tests (4), face masks, pain relievers, thermometer)
- Food items, including staples, pre-packaged foods, bottled beverages
- Games (cards, board games)
- Game consoles and cables
- Hangers
- Laundry bag/basket and detergent
- Padlocks for desk, laptop, and bike
- Paper towels and toilet paper
- Pots and pans
- Reusable water bottle/coffee mug, reusable shopping bag(s)
- Room decorations^
- Sewing kit/safety pins
- Small kitchen appliances, such as a blender, coffee maker, hand-mixer, rice cooker, etc)
- Snow shovel (for students with a parking permit)
- Smart TV or TV plus streaming device
- Toiletry items
- Towels (kitchen and bath)
- Umbrella, rain boots

What's In Your Room
Laundry Facilities are available on every floor.
Apartment Amenities
- Full kitchen
- Extra-long twin bed, chest of drawers, desk, and chair for each student
- Furnished living room with two soft chairs and a loveseat
- WiFi, psu-personal network for smart devices
Building Amenities
- Laundry room
- Study Rooms with innovation stations for projects and collaboration (open and set up for social distancing)
^Posters and photos must be hung with plastic tack.
+ Alcohol is prohibited on campus, regardless of the resident's age
* Smoking is prohibited in all residence halls, common areas, and dining facilities.
