Housing Arrival Schedule

New Student Orientation Arrival
The official arrival day for Summer Session II is Sunday, June 29. Schedule Move-In time slots are available for 30-minutes between 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. All summer session students will move directly into their summer session room assignment and attend the New Student Orientation (NSO) program that begins Sunday evening.
Housing Early Arrival Move-In Option
Make your arrival process smooth! University Housing offers early arrival on Saturday, June 28. Schedule Move-In time slots are available for 30-minutes between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., and 1-hour between 6 p.m. - midnight. Overnight arrival between midnight -8 a.m. is an option for students who flights may arrive late.
As this day is not included in the summer session housing charges, there is an additional $40 fee that will be charged to the student's LionPATH account. The Campus Meal Plan will be activated upon check-in and does not require an additional fee.
It's easy to arrival early - no permission is required! Simply Schedule Move-In for the date/time that works best for your schedule!

The availability of dates/times is dependent upon the building.
To Schedule Move-In:
- Login to eLiving > My Info > Schedule Move-In
- Select a date/time that works for your schedule. No confirmation will be sent.
- You can modify your date/time as necessary
- It is recommended that you and your roommate do not move in at the same time to allow for space to unpack

What to Pack
Please refer to the HFS Contract Terms, Conditions, and Regulations for more detailed information. Since only one vehicle per student is permitted to unload, be careful not to overpack.
- Baskets for toiletries and storage
- Cleaning supplies and paper towels
- Computer, printer, and cables
- Desk lamp, desk supplies
- Fan (portable)
- Financial items (checking/savings account, credit/debit card, health insurance card, Social Security card, driver's license, etc.)
- First-Aid kit (band-aids, cotton balls, cotton swabs, cold/cough medicine, aspirin, thermometer)
- Food items (can opener, bottled beverages, coffee maker with automatic shutoff, one set of silverware/plates/bowls/glasses, snacks, dish detergent/towel)
- Games (cards, board games)
- Game consoles and cables
- Hangers
- Laundry bag/basket and detergent
- Padlocks for desk, laptop, and bike
- Room decorations^
- Sewing kit/safety pins
- Sheets, pillow, and blanket - for extra-long twin bed (80" x 36")

Here's what to expect on your Scheduled Move In day.
Vehicle and Parking Information

One vehicle is permitted in the residence hall Unloading Zone for one trip only.

Navigate to your designated residence hall Unloading Zone on your mobile device. You have 30-minutes to unload your vehicle while in the Unloading Zone. Hazard lights must be turned on while unloading.

Upon entry to the Unloading Zone, you will be instructed to use the "unloading timer" feature in eLiving to add your vehicle information and start your 30-minute unloading session.

After unloading, your vehicle must be moved to the Jordan East Parking Lot. Passengers can walk or use the shuttle to the housing area.

Large vehicles/U-Hauls/trailers/RVs are NOT permitted in the residence hall Unloading Zones, as there areas are limited and do not provide enough clearance to maneuver large vehicles into spaces. With the vehicle and pedestrian congestion in the residence hall areas, large vehicles simply cannot be accommodated for safety reasons. These types of vehicles must remain at Jordan East Parking Lot.

Housing Self-Check-In
Arrival Check-in Location: All Housing Areas
We are excited to announce that all housing areas on campus feature digital access to individual rooms! Instead of physical metal keys, students will use their mobile id+ card to gain access to their assigned building and bedroom. An added feature is that students can utilize the Self-Check-In feature in eLiving, eliminating the need to stop at any location to check in!
If any assistance is required, stop by the indicated Commons Desk Operation, which is open 24 hours a day.

Self Check-In Arrival Process
Follow these steps for a smooth Arrival:
- Schedule Move-In for your planned arrival date/time. You MUST have a Schedule Move-In appointment for the self-check-in feature to work properly.
- When you arrive to campus, proceed to your designated residence hall Unloading Zone.
- Before entering Unloading Zone, complete the Self-Check-In in eLiving. This step will download your building/apartment, assigned room, and Campus Meal Plan to your mobile id+ card.
- Upon entry to Unloading Zone, follow instructions to activate the 30-minute unloading timer; turn on vehicle hazard lights.
- Visit the Cart Tent to sign out a moving cart.
- Proceed to your room - follow the Using Digital Locks instructions for using the room door reader.
- Complete the unloading of your vehicle within 30 minutes.
- Move vehicle to long-term parking at Jordan East Parking Lot.

Living with a Roommate and In a Community
Living with a roommate is a great experience and helps you learn more about yourself and how to communicate and relate effectively to others. Knowing how to take responsibility for yourself and how to respect others are valuable skills in all relationships. Living in a community also brings a responsibility to residents - safety and security are very important, and you play an important part in keeping yourself and your community safe. If you see something, say something. University Police are available by calling 814-863-1111.
To support the mission of providing a safe, comfortable, secure, and nurturing living-learning environment that is conducive to students' academic pursuits and personal growth while fostering a sense of community, civic responsibility, and an appreciation of diversity, the University offers Residence Life staff in every residence hall and apartment area. Residence Life staff include student and professional staff members who live in the community and are available 24/7 to provide information and resources, offer help and support, plan social and educational activities, and address residents' concerns.
